Roofers You Can Rely On — Repairs, Re-Roofs and New Roofs 

A roof only gets your attention when something goes wrong, and by then a small problem has usually become an expensive one. ZS Builders offers the full range of roofing services, from replacing a handful of slipped tiles to stripping and rebuilding a complete roof. 

Our roofing services 

Roof repairs. Slipped, cracked or missing tiles, damaged flashing, failed pointing and leaks around chimneys and valleys. We find the actual source of the water rather than patching the spot where it appears inside. 

Re-roofing and new roofs. When repairs stop being economical, we strip the old covering, check and replace defective battens and timbers, fit modern breathable membrane and re-cover in tiles or slate. A properly installed new roof should see out several decades. 

Flat roofing. EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass and torch-on felt systems for extensions, dormers, garages and outbuildings. We pay particular attention to falls and drainage, which is where most flat roofs fail. 

Chimney work. Repointing, re-flaunching, new flashing, rebuilds and removals, all with correct weathering details. 

Guttering, fascias and soffits. Blocked and leaking gutters push water down your walls and cause damp inside. We clear, repair and replace gutters and fit uPVC fascias and soffits that will not rot. 

Leadwork. Traditional lead valleys, flashings, soakers and box gutters, formed and fitted by hand. 

Emergency call-outs. Storm damage and sudden leaks made safe and watertight quickly, with a permanent repair scheduled afterwards. 

Signs your roof needs attention 

• Damp patches, staining or peeling paint on upstairs ceilings 

• Tiles or slates in the garden after high winds 

• Daylight visible through the roof from inside the loft 

• Sagging along the ridge or between rafters 

• Moss build-up blocking gutters and valleys 

• Crumbling mortar at the ridge, hips or chimney stack

How we work 

Every job starts with a proper inspection, including photographs of anything you can't see from the ground. You get an honest assessment and a written quotation that separates what needs doing now from what can wait. We don't invent work, and we don't pressure anyone into a full re-roof when a repair will do. 

All our roofers work from scaffolding or towers, never ladders alone. We're fully insured for public liability, we clear the site daily, and we leave your garden and driveway as we found them. 

Materials we work with 

Concrete and clay tiles, natural and fibre cement slate, lead, zinc, EPDM, GRP and high-performance felt. We'll match existing materials on repairs so the work blends in, and we'll talk you through the options and lifespans on a full replacement.
